Universal Pictures released brand-new posters and an intense new trailer for HIM, the latest horror-drama from Oscar winner Jordan Peele and his powerhouse team at Monkeypaw Productions. And trust us, this one looks like it’s going to get under your skin in the best way.
Starring former college wide receiver Tyriq Withers, HIM follows Cameron Cade, a rising-star quarterback whose life revolves entirely around football. But the night before the NFL Combine, his dream turns into a nightmare when an unhinged fan attacks him, leaving him with a potentially career-ending brain injury.
Enter Marlon Wayans, delivering what’s already being called a career-defining dramatic turn as Isaiah White, an eight-time championship-winning quarterback and cultural megastar. Isaiah offers to train Cam at his secluded compound, which he shares with his glamorous influencer wife, Elsie (Julia Fox). But mentorship comes with strings attached, and Isaiah’s “help” slowly twists into something darker and far more dangerous.

The trailer teases a slow burn that spirals into psychological horror, blurring the line between admiration and obsession. Peele’s knack for infusing social commentary into chilling, character-driven narratives is on full display here, exploring themes of fame, exploitation, and what it costs to be “the best.”
And it’s not just the leads bringing the heat; HIM also features Tim Heidecker, Jim Jefferies, MMA heavyweight Maurice Greene, and hip-hop standouts Guapdad 4000 and Grammy-nominated Tierra Whack, all making their feature film debuts.
Directed by Justin Tipping from a Black List screenplay by Zack Akers & Skip Bronkie, the film is backed by Peele, Ian Cooper, Win Rosenfeld, and Jamal M. Watson, with Monkeypaw Productions once again pushing genre boundaries.
HIM hits theaters September 19.
