We haven’t seen LaKeith Stanfield in a while, so we’re happy he’s back. This time, he’s running with a crew of career criminals in Play Dirty, a gritty heist comedy that explodes onto Prime Video this October.
Directed by Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Nice Guys), the film stars Mark Wahlberg as Parker, an elite thief with a code and one hell of a plan. Stanfield co-leads as Grofield, Parker’s trusted right hand.
Set in a sharp-tongued, crime-ridden New York underworld, Play Dirty follows Parker as he assembles a dream team of thieves to pull off the biggest score of his career. Alongside Grofield and Zen (played by Alita: Battle Angel’s Rosa Salazar), the crew quickly realizes their perfect heist puts them on a collision course with the New York mob, and survival will require more than just street smarts.

Stanfield, known for genre-bending roles in Sorry to Bother You, Atlanta, and Judas and the Black Messiah, plays a calculated yet unpredictable force, equal parts strategist and wild card.
The cast includes Keegan-Michael Key, Chukwudi Iwuji, Nat Wolff, Thomas Jane, and Tony Shalhoub.
Play Dirty marks Black’s latest venture into neo-noir storytelling with a comedic twist, co-writing the screenplay with Charles Mondry and Anthony Bagarozzi. The film is adapted from Richard Stark’s Parker book series.

Executive producers include Hollywood heavyweights Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey, along with Marc Toberoff and James W. Skotchdopole.
Check out the trailer. Play Dirty premieres exclusively on Prime Video starting October 1, 2025.
