Not only is Kalan.FrFr putting on for his city; he’s also helping build it up. This past Sunday, the rapper and community advocate hosted his sixth annual TwoFr Day at Compton College, bringing together fans, students, and families for a day of celebration, giving, and unity.
The free event offered programming for the community, including food trucks, game trucks, bouncy houses, haircuts, shoes, backpacks, and school supplies. Attendees also enjoyed live performances, including a pop-up concert hosted by India Love and Storm DeBarge, with appearances from Tommy The Clown, 310babii, and other West Coast favorites, before Kalan himself closed the night.
What began as a grassroots block party has evolved into a citywide tradition, but for Kalan, the heart of TwoFr Day has always been community. As he explained in our interview, “I’m a product of my environment…If your people in your backyard don’t support you, then nobody gonna support you.”

That philosophy is why TwoFr Day has grown beyond music into a movement centered on giving. From special needs programs to youth initiatives, Kalan sees his role as more than just an artist.
The City of Compton recognized Kalan and his foundation’s work with an official plaque at the event. The celebration was supported by sponsors and allies, including J.P. Morgan Chase, True Religion, Marathon Burger, Power 106, and more.
NBA stars James Harden and Russell Westbrook also threw their support behind the day.
For Kalan, TwoFr Day is more than an annual event; it’s a reminder of his commitment to the city that raised him.
