Leave it to a legend to make an entrance fit for Hollywood royalty.

Veteran actor, director, and real-life cowboy Glynn Turman showed up in true Western fashion on horseback to accept his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The 78-year-old Emmy winner, who’s had an illustrious career spanning over six decades, was honored with a star in the Television category. But instead of arriving in a sleek black car or luxury SUV, Turman paid homage to his roots and his lifelong love of horseback riding by trotting down Hollywood Boulevard on a stunning black stallion.

Best known for roles in Cooley High, A Different World, The Wire, and House of Lies, Turman’s legacy stretches far beyond the screen. He’s also a stage powerhouse, civil rights activist, and passionate horseman who’s spent years teaching inner-city kids how to ride and care for horses through his non-profit, Glynn Turman’s Camp Gid D Up.

Standing beside him as he received his honor were Don Cheadle and Ava DuVernay, both of whom have collaborated with Turman and share deep admiration for his impact on the industry.

Magic Johnson, who couldn’t attend the ceremony, posted a heartfelt message to his friend in honor of his great achievement. “Today, my good friend Glynn Turman received the Hollywood Walk of Fame honor,” he shared on X. “Glynn, your true talent is undeniable, but I also know the many hours you put in to play every role the right way. Cookie and I want you to relish this moment and truly enjoy the honor and recognition that you’ve earned. We are extremely proud of you and wish you all the best!”

Congratulations, Mr. Glynn Turman!
