The 7th Annual Every Color Matters Gala lit up the historic Delta Flight Museum in Atlanta last month, as guests gathered to raise nearly $60,000 in support of cancer patients and their families. The event, hosted by the Every Color Matters Cancer Awareness Foundation, brought together survivors, advocates, and supporters under the powerful theme: United in Hope, Empowered by Action.

Guests walked the red carpet into a night filled with live music, an open bar, and a plated dinner, all set beneath a vintage aircraft. The event wasn’t just about dressing up and having a good time; it was about showing up for a cause that touches every community.

Fox 5’s Jonathan Stacey and producer Quinae Ford welcomed guests on the red carpet while veteran journalist and breast cancer survivor Monica Kaufman-Pearson emceed the night.

Mayor Andre Dickens addressed attendees via video, applauding ECM’s continued community work. Georgia Senators RaShaun Kemp and Jason Esteves were also present, delivering official resolutions in honor of ECM’s contributions to the fight against cancer.

Among the special moments of the evening, four cancer patients currently undergoing treatment were each awarded $1,000 checks, providing direct financial relief. These gifts reflect ECM’s mission to meet people exactly where they are, with both empathy and resources.

“Cancer does not discriminate based on color, race, religion, or creed — neither can we,” Barney Jackson, founder of Every Color Matters, shared. “This gala proves the power of people coming together for a cause bigger than ourselves.”

Funds from the gala will support several impactful ECM initiatives, including the upcoming Community 5K Run/Walk in October, the ECM Scholarship Fund, and the Home for the Holidays Program. Additional funding will go toward ongoing educational outreach efforts in schools, churches, and businesses, as well as providing emergency financial support for patients currently undergoing treatment.
