Kendrick Lamar is collaborating with South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone on an upcoming comedy called Whitney Springs. Lamar is also producing the film alongside longtime collaborator Dave Free through their company, pgLang.

“This script is one of the funniest and most original scripts we’ve ever read, and it’s certain to create some fireworks,” Paramount Pictures CEO Brian Robbins said during an appearance at CinemaCon 2024.

The plot follows a young Black man interning as a slave reenactor at a living history museum who finds out that his white girlfriend’s ancestors once owned his.

Chloe East, who starred in The Fabelmans, and Celeste Octavia, known for Traded, have been announced as lead actors. Whether Kendrick Lamar will star in the film has not been specified.

After shutting down the Super Bowl with a riveting performance, Lamar continues to look for more creative outlets to be involved in. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, for years he’s been saying that he didn’t feel like music was the end goal for him.
