Nick Cannon's New Talk Show Is 'Not About Cancel Culture, It's About Counsel Culture!'

Nick Cannon has been very vocal about wanting to change "cancel culture" to "counsel culture."

Earlier this year, the rapper and television host created his Counsel Culture podcast to provide "a safe space to have inclusive conversations with people from all walks of life about topics that are often considered taboo."

Now, Cannon is transforming his podcast into a talk show.

Today, Amazon MGM Studios announced that Counsel Culture is set to premiere on June 6 on Prime Video and Amazon Freevee. The new series wants to destigmatize male mental health through candid discussions on a variety of sensitive topics such as grief, loyalty, financial security, marriage, trust and emotional vulnerability.

Cannon emphasized the show’s mission: "Instead of canceling each other, we are counseling each other," highlighting the importance of open dialogue over exclusion. This show looks like it will bring all the necessary conversations to the table. It's time for men to start having important conversations, not only among themselves but also publicly, to show that they are not facing life's hardest challenges alone.

Each half-hour episode will feature Cannon alongside a panel of guest co-hosts, engaging in deep discussions on issues affecting the greater society and their personal lives. This season will include notable guest panelists comedian Howie Mandel, former NBA star Lamar Odom, singer NE-YO, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson, and many others such as Ray-J, August Alsina, and former UFC Champion Tyron Woodley.

The series will also have experts who will provide statistical and credible knowledge to help structure the conversations. The experts will range from therapists and psychiatrists to relationship and grief experts, providing well-rounded perspectives on each topic.

All nine episodes of Counsel Culture will be available on premiere day. Check out the trailer below.
