A creative force wearing many hats - producer, director, actor and more - Tyler Perry's influence has transformed the entertainment industry. Now, in a remarkable examination of his life and legacy, Prime Video presents Maxine's Baby: The Tyler Perry Story, a documentary that gives an intimate and revealing glimpse into the life of the Madea creator.

Maxine's Baby: The Tyler Perry Story sheds light on Perry's arduous journey, encompassing his rise to success while confronting the shadows of his challenging past. The title is a touching homage to the unconditional love of Perry's mother. It depicts the narrative of a visionary and innovator who carved his path to triumph despite the odds stacked against him.

The upcoming documentary, which took nearly ten years to make, gives audiences access to Perry's inner world, showcasing parts of his life that many rarely see. He talks about his childhood and how he deals with his thoughts. "But my problem with a lot of things in life is I float above it. That's just from childlessness from abuse," Perry shares in the new trailer.

Perry also talks about his estranged relationship with his father. "But I just could not understand how this man could look at me and hate me with such passion," he shares in the trailer.

Maxine's Baby: The Tyler Perry Story was produced by co-director Gelila Bekele, along with Jasmine K. White and Asante White, Maxine's Baby is slated to make its world premiere at AFI Fest.

Maxine's Baby: The Tyler Perry Story is set to premiere on November 17, 2023, exclusively on Prime Video.
