Usher's Extended Version of 'My Way' and Mini-Documentary Set to be Released Today

The Atlanta powerhouse Usher Raymond has been rocking our ears since the 90s. From blessing us with timeless hits to getting the party started with his latest single Good Love with the City Girls, Usher is the standard when it comes to long-lasting R&B music. Think back to your childhood, when you would wait to see his videos on MTV, BET, and many other platforms that played music. Think of that Walkman you had with his CDs on rotation. Usher has been blessing us for the last 20+ years.

That’s why it's exciting to hear about his upcoming mini-documentary that is celebrating 25 years of his critically acclaimed My Way album. The documentary that’s being directed by Dolapo Sangokoya will feature interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, and never before seen archival footage from back in his early album-making days.

The documentary will air on Usher's YouTube channel on September 16th at 7:00 pm EST, which is the anniversary of the original release of the My Way album. With the release of this mini-documentary, Usher is also re-releasing the My Way album with six additional tracks added. These additional tracks include reimagined versions of Nice & Slow, My Way and You Make Me Wanna.

This is special for Usher because this particular album was one of the hottest albums that he created. Released on September 16, 1997, this album debuted at number 15 on the Billboard 200 and peaked at number 4 by January 1998. It gave Usher his first career number 1 song which was Nice & Slow, and the album sold 67,000 copies in its first week. The single You Make Me Wanna also made the Hot 100 chart by charting at number 2, and My Way also charted and peaked at number 2. The album is now certified 7x platinum with more than 7 million copies sold.

Let's give Usher his flowers because he is a man that truly deserves them! Check out the documentary trailer below.
