Virgil's Gullah Kitchen & Bar Opens Their 2nd Location in West Midtown ATL

Perseverance, consistency, determination, and intention are just a few attributes that describe the essence of Juan and Gee Smalls. This dynamic couple and business partnership has been creating change and doing it dynamically in Atlanta for years and with new ventures they will not stop.

A few years ago, Juan and Gee opened their first restaurant Virgil’s Gullah Kitchen & Bar in downtown historic College Park, GA. Since then, they’ve thrived and are now they were able to open a second restaurant along with Lorenzo Wyche called The Breakfast Boys. Here they serve up boozy brunch and awesome breakfast eats.

Even though the pandemic slowed plenty of businesses and consumers down, Juan and Gee persevered and were able to bring the taste of West African Gullah Geechee all the way from South Carolina to West Midtown ATL! The grand opening soiree of this restaurant was one for the books. From passing around light hors d'oeuvres for consumers to sample, to signature cocktails for the libation, we were able to bask in the celebration of this huge milestone for Juan and Gee. The opening included several media outlets, friends, and family. The dynamic duo thanked everyone, and Juan stated, “What you’re really witnessing is the manifestation of setting intentions, doing the work, and having and trusting your vision.”
