For them, creating an album can be therapeutic, for us, it can also become the soundtrack of our lives at the moment. Take a look at some of the most anticipated albums from Black men releasing this summer 2022.

MAVERICK CITY & KIRK FRANKLIN

The collective called Maverick City Music is a gospel force of nature. Think of this band as the Christian music's Earth, Wind & Fire. The Grammy award-winning group has given us music to ease a lifetime of pain and suffering, offering us to simply give it to our higher power. Along with them, we have the incomparable Kirk Franklin. Since the 90s, Kirk Franklin has rocked the entire world with his mellow and uplifting music. He is a gospel pioneer. It’s no surprise that Maverick City and Kirk Franklin have joined forces to release their upcoming collaborative live album Kingdom Book One. This album is set to be released on June 17.

CHRIS BROWN

C Breezy is a force, talented and creative. Since the age of 16, Chris Brown has given us music that has rocked our ears with love and passion. It’s no shock that the 33-year-old award-winning singer/songwriter is keeping the force going with his highly anticipated upcoming 10th album Breezy. The album drops on June 24.

LUPE FIASCO

When you “kick, and push, and coast,” you portray yourself in the likes of rapper/activist Lupe Fiasco. The Chicago native is finally releasing an anticipated album titled Drill Music In Zion. Many may remember the rapper quitting music after a controversy he faced in 2016, but that did not stop or slow him down one bit. He released albums in 2017 and 2018 in which both peaked in the top 50s of the Billboard 200. According to Lupe’s Twitter account, the album is set to be released on June 24.

THE GAME

The LA native rapper who has topped the charts since 2005 is back for his 10th studio album titled Drillmatic- Mind Vs. Heart. The Game is certainly one to be reckoned with. Since his debut in 2005, he has made music that speaks volumes about his life. He is for sure an artist that doesn’t give in no matter what comes his way. The album is set to be released on June 17.

YOUNGBOY NBA

These days rap comes in many forms. One of the most sought rap styles by artists is Trap Music. This is where Youngboy Never Broke Again AKA Youngboy NBA comes into play. The Baton rouge-born rapper has made his way back to the studio to create his upcoming 4th studio album The Last Slimeto. From working with the likes of Migos, Nicki Minaj, and more, this album will be one of rap's most highly anticipated. The release date is set for August 5.
