Deray Davis and Letoya Luckett Will Host the 7th Annual Black Music Honors in Atlanta
Black music continues to be celebrated as the world of music prepares for the 7th Annual Black Music Honors. The event will have an incredible roster of performers for a star-studded celebration of influential musical legends with a live studio audience taping at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday, May 19. It will then air on National Broadcast Syndication from June 4 - July 3 and on Bounce TV on June 25.
Co-hosted by DeRay Davis and LeToya Luckett, The BMH will kick off with award-winning Singer-Songwriter Keri Hilson, who is set to receive the Music and Songwriter Icon Award. Multi-award-winning gospel duo Mary Mary will be presented with the Gospel Icon Award and five-time Grammy nominee Tevin Campbell will receive the R&B Icon Award. Dru Hill will be honored with the Urban Music Icon Award and the group is planning a special performance in celebration of their 25th anniversary. NAACP Image award-winning singer Karyn White will also be honored with the Soul Music Award. The legendary R&B group The Whispers will take home the Legends Award for their incredible six-decade music career.
Performers gracing the stage at this year’s power-packed televised show include popular late 80’s Hip-Hop Duo Kid N’ Play, Grammy-Award-winning supergroup 112, multi-award-winning music veteran Carl Thomas, three-time Grammy-nominated singer Raheem DeVaughn, and actress Amber Riley. Crooner Eric Bellinger, powerhouse serenader Avery Wilson, and multi-Grammy-Award-winning artist PJ Morton will also take the stage.
