Master P Receives Honorary Doctorate From Lincoln University

Lincoln University announced that music business mogul Percy "Master P" Miller received an honorary doctorate degree for the institution.

Miller was honored alongside Dr. Benjamin Crump, who received an honorary Doctor of Laws and Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, who received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters, and Gloria Carter, Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter's mother.

An advocate for higher education, Miller announced earlier this year that he had plans to own an HBCU.

In his younger years, he was accepted to the University of Houston on a basketball scholarship, but dropped out and moved to California to attend Merritt College, a community college where he took business administration classes.

His son Romeo Miller was also able to obtain a basketball scholarship to attend college. Romeo graduated from the University of Southern California.

Miller's other son Mercy Miller was recently accepted to Tennessee State University.
