Hence the reason we have many organizations in our schools and communities. Organizations are clubs that are supposed to enrich the lives of men and women all over the world. Whether it's academic, civic, or community-based, they serve extremely important purposes.

Right now, in life, Black men need the community more than ever. With everything that occurred in 2020, Black men could use the support and encouragement. Learn more about six organizations for Black men.

Fraternal Organizations (National Pan-Hellenic council "divine nine")

Since the early 1900s African American’s have sought out independence and freedom. When they got the chance to create something of their own, it was a breath of fresh air. In comes Fraternities and sororities. The values of these organizations are all about education, service, merit, and brotherhood. As a fraternal man myself, I know all about the enrichment and value it adds to my life. Many men look at fraternities as life-saving organizations and a way to uplift and push them to higher abilities.

Concerned Black Men of America

CBM is an organization that conducts programs and projects to support youth and strengthen their families. This is a male services organization that proudly believes in its grassroots heritage. CBM was founded in 1975 when some Philadelphia police officers sponsored events for kids at-risk of gang violence. The vision of CBM has expanded to include children and their parents nationwide. However, the philosophy of men offering themselves as positive role models to children has remained CBM’s mission. This is a great uplifting organization for black men to succeed in helping not only themselves but to learn to remain helpful in family affairs. Check them out at www.cbmnational.org.

National Urban League

The National Urban League works to provide economic empowerment, educational opportunities, and the guarantee of civil rights for the underserved in America. We all realize that urban communities and especially black men have been underserved for many years. This is one of the main reasons the Urban League exists. Not only does this organization help black men succeed, but like other community organizations, it gives African Americans a chance to involve themselves and enrich their lives. We are all here to be of service to one another, so why not start with an organization like the Urban League.
