It’s a massive week for Netflix, as two of its biggest 2026 releases have officially taken over the global viewing charts. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II has successfully reignited the classic revenge tale Man on Fire, while Michael B. Jordan’s foray into animation with Swapped has proven to be a certified family hit.
Abdul-Mateen II is officially a “bona fide action star,” leading Man on Fire to the top of the English-language TV chart for its debut week. The series adaptation of the A.J. Quinnell novel pulled in 11 million views in just its first four days on the streamer.
The show follows John Creasy, a former Special Forces mercenary battling intense PTSD who is pulled back into the “fire” to protect a colleague’s daughter after a devastating bombing.
Fans and critics are praising Abdul-Mateen’s “human” take on the role, which was famously portrayed by Denzel Washington in the 2004 film.
On the film side, Michael B. Jordan and Juno Temple’s animated fantasy Swapped had a powerhouse debut, landing at No. 2 on the English-language film chart. The film, which follows a tiny woodland creature and a bird who accidentally swap bodies, earned 15.5 million views in its opening weekend.
This marks the biggest three-day opening for a Netflix animated film since Leo in 2023. Directed by Nathan Greno and produced by Skydance Animation, Swapped has become a worldwide sensation, trending at No. 1 in several countries and unseating the action-thriller Apex in various daily top 10 rankings.
Man on Fire and Swapped are currently streaming on Netflix.
