The nostalgia was palpable this past Saturday night at the Kia Forum, where the Boys 4 Life Tour fed a deeply starving crowd of millennial R&B and hip-hop fans. Co-headlined by Bow Wow and B2K, the tour is a massive celebration of the early-2000s era that shaped a generation.
However, it was the opening act that immediately set the tone for the night: B5 took the stage, and their mics were definitely on, reminding everyone exactly what a real boy band looks and sounds like on stage.
Kicking off the night, B5 proved that they haven’t missed a beat. The brothers, who became 2000s staples following the success of their hit single All I Do (which peaked at No. 7 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Chart), showed they still have a highly dedicated audience.

The crowd sang along, remembering every word as the group showcased their enduring stage presence and choreographed dance moves. The performance comes at a perfect time, as B5 is making a return with a refreshed sound and new music. They are gearing up to release their highly anticipated new single, ETA.
Beyond B5, the Boys 4 Life Tour lineup felt like a genuine time machine of music. The stacked roster included heavy hitters like Crime Mob, Dem Franchise Boyz, Yung Joc, Waka Flocka, and Pretty Ricky. Jeremih, who was originally included in the lineup when it was announced, had to step back due to ongoing health concerns. Amerie also graced the stage, looking exactly the same as she did when she first walked across our screens in her short skirts and heels.
The night was packed with major milestones. The tour commemorates over 20 years since headliners B2K and Bow Wow first shared a stage during 2002’s Scream Tour II. It also serves as a celebration for B2K’s 25th anniversary as a group, as well as Bow Wow’s 25-year milestone in the music industry.

The spirit of community that defined the 2000s era was in full effect, with surprise appearances elevating the energy throughout the stadium. Bow Wow brought out Compton AV and Big Sean, who even brought a package of Bow Wow’s signature Red by Kiss durags on stage for him to sign, declaring that he has the best durags in the game.
The members of B2K also brought their own special moments to the Forum. Raz B introduced his wife and brought out his son, later delivering a high-energy Michael Jackson tribute performance. J Boog brought out Jason Martin, while Lil Fizz surprised fans by bringing out Chef Boy. Omarion kept the family theme going, bringing his kids onto the stage, and his son even grabbed the mic to sing his part! To cap it off, Omarion brought Bow Wow back out to perform their classic collaboration, Let Me Hold You.

The Boys 4 Life Tour was more than just a reunion; it was a nostalgic pill that brought you back to a time when your head was in the clouds, dreaming of the life you wanted to live to a soundtrack that carried the emotions of your youth.
