If you have been glued to your screen watching Sterling K. Brown navigate a post-apocalyptic landscape, we have some news for you. Hulu has officially renewed the hit drama series Paradise for a third season. The exciting announcement comes just ahead of the show’s highly anticipated Season 2 finale, which is set to air on March 30.
Created by Dan Fogelman, the political thriller has been an absolute streaming juggernaut since its three-episode Season 2 launch on February 23.
The series has consistently held a top spot on Hulu’s Top 15 Today list. The viewership numbers speak for themselves: Season 2 has already racked up 30 million hours of watch time, while simultaneously driving an additional 25 million streaming hours for its inaugural season.
According to Disney statistics, the post-apocalyptic show has been streamed for nearly 12 billion minutes globally.
The show’s first season pulled in four Emmy nominations, including a nod for Outstanding Drama Series, alongside acting nominations for Brown, Julianne Nicholson, and James Marsden. With its current momentum, the series is already looking like a major contender for the upcoming awards cycle.
Following the shocking Season 1 finale revelation that survivors, including his wife, Teri (played by Enuka Okuma), are still out there, Xavier (Brown) finally leaves the Paradise bunker. Journeying into the destroyed world for the first time in three years, he encounters various bands of survivors and learns exactly how they have managed to stay alive since catastrophe struck Earth.
Meanwhile, back at the bunker in Colorado, the remaining community is dealing with rising tensions as they grapple with broken trust and newly unveiled secrets.
The star-studded Season 2 cast features Brown, Nicholson, and Okuma, alongside Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Krys Marshall, Aliyah Mastin, Percy Daggs IV, and Charlie Evans. The season also has a lineup of recurring guest stars, including Marsden, Shailene Woodley, Thomas Doherty, and Jon Beavers.
If you need to catch up before the explosive Season 2 finale drops, the series is currently streaming on Hulu, as well as Hulu on Disney+ in the U.S. for bundle subscribers, and on Disney+ internationally.
