T.I. is trading platinum plaques for punchlines this holiday season.
The Atlanta icon is set to release his new comedy special, Cheaper Than Therapy, on Christmas Eve, marking his latest creative pivot, this time into stand-up comedy.
According to TMZ, the project captures T.I. leaning fully into humor as both a personal release and a new form of storytelling, proving that laughter might just be his most honest medium yet.
The teaser trailer makes it clear: this isn’t a concert, and fans expecting hit records are politely and hilariously warned otherwise.
“Shout out to everybody who bought tickets thinking there was going to be some songs performed. Not today,” T.I. jokes. Instead, he introduces a different rhythm, built on jokes, stories, and raw honesty.
Cheaper Than Therapy traces his journey from the chaos of fame to the healing power of laughter. Throughout the trailer, T.I. reflects on family, relationships, faith, and fatherhood, mixing humor with moments of vulnerability. At one point, he addresses criticism head-on with a monologue about parenting under public scrutiny, turning what could be pain into comedy catharsis.
The special also leans into T.I.’s confidence and belief in abundance.
“If it can happen to me, it can happen to you,” he says. Stories about meeting his wife, navigating success, and finding peace all land with the same message: laughter isn’t just entertainment, it’s survival.
T.I. positions Cheaper Than Therapy as more than a stand-up set. It’s a reframing of his life, told one joke at a time.
Dropping on Christmas Eve, the special offers an unexpected holiday release. Check out the trailer below. Click here to pre-order.
