Chadwick Boseman will be honored with a posthumous star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on November 20. The star will be located at 6904 Hollywood Blvd., right in front of The Hollywood Experience.
The ceremony will feature tributes from Black Panther director Ryan Coogler and Academy Award winner Viola Davis, who starred alongside Boseman in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. His wife, Simone Ledward-Boseman, will accept the honor on his behalf.
“This recognition is about more than Chadwick’s incredible performances — it’s about his spirit, his discipline, and his unwavering dedication to telling stories that matter,” said Ana Martinez, producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. “His powerful performances and enduring impact both on and off screen continue to inspire generations around the world.”
The event will be hosted by Steve Nissen, president and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which oversees the Walk of Fame on behalf of the City of Los Angeles. Fans unable to attend in person will be able to watch the ceremony live at WalkOfFame.com.
Boseman’s influence reaches far beyond his roles. From portraying Jackie Robinson in 42, James Brown in Get On Up, and Thurgood Marshall in Marshall, to becoming the face of a generation as T’Challa in Black Panther, he embodied excellence with quiet strength and purpose.
His passing in 2020 at the age of 43 was met with global mourning, but his legacy has only grown stronger. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, released two years later, served as both a cinematic sequel and a cultural tribute to the man who changed the way the world saw Black heroes.
Boseman’s star joins those of other cultural legends like Denzel Washington, Angela Bassett, and Sidney Poitier, a fitting home among peers who, like him, elevated what it means to be an artist.
