Christian Louboutin is making history and shaking up the fashion world by appointing Jaden Smith as its first-ever creative director for the men’s line.

The French luxury house, famous for its iconic red soles, announced the bold move 15 years after expanding into menswear. Smith, the actor, musician, and style disruptor, will relocate to Paris to take on the role and is set to debut his first collection during Paris Fashion Week in January.

At just 27, Smith has already built a reputation as one of fashion’s most boundary-pushing figures. From gender-fluid red carpet looks to streetwear innovation with his MSFTSrep brand, Smith has consistently challenged expectations and blurred lines in style.

Now, he’ll bring that perspective to Louboutin, overseeing four collections a year, which will include shoes, leather goods, and accessories. Beyond design, Smith will also shape campaigns, events, and immersive experiences for the brand’s men’s division.

Menswear currently represents about 24% of Christian Louboutin’s business, and Smith’s appointment is seen as a way to both strengthen and re-energize that segment. His influence will also allow Louboutin himself to focus more heavily on womenswear, where the brand built its legacy.

With this appointment, Christian Louboutin is betting on that voice to redefine the future of men’s luxury footwear and accessories.

Jaden’s debut collection is expected to reflect his signature mix of futurism, streetwear edge, and bold silhouettes—qualities that have made him a style icon for Gen Z and beyond.

All eyes will be on Paris this January to see how he reinvents one of fashion’s most recognizable luxury brands from the ground up.
