The mastermind behind the Power universe, Courtney A. Kemp, is back with a new crime drama for Netflix—Nemesis. Co-created with Tani Marole, Nemesis is the first series under Kemp’s creative partnership with Netflix, and it promises to bring high-stakes action, psychological intensity, and complex moral dilemmas to the screen.
Described as an action-packed heist series in the vein of Power, Nemesis is more than just a battle between a criminal mastermind and a brilliant detective.
The series focuses on two men standing on opposite sides of the law: Coltrane Wilder, a master criminal played by Y’lan Noel (Insecure, Lady in the Lake), and Isaiah Stiles, a relentless police detective portrayed by Matthew Law (Abbott Elementary, Ahsoka). Their inevitable clash will set the stage for a gripping heist drama that explores loyalty, ambition, self-destruction, and the blurred lines between right and wrong.

Apple TV Platonic star Tre Hale plays Darren “Stro” Stroman, Coltrane Wilder’s loyal right-hand man. The series also stars Cleopatra Coleman (Black Rabbit, Clipped), Domenick Lombardozzi (The Wire, Tulsa King), Jonnie “Dumbfoundead” Park (Quiz Lady, Power) and Ariana Guerra (CSI: Vegas, Marvel’s Helstrom).
Mario Van Peebles (Baadasssss!, Wu-Tang: An American Saga) directs the first two episodes and serves as executive producer along with Chris Selak and Philipp Barnett.
While Netflix has not announced an official release date, Nemesis will film in Los Angeles.
