Jay-Z has filed a lawsuit against the woman who previously accused him of rape, as well as her attorney, Tony Buzbee. Filed in an Alabama federal court, the lawsuit alleges that the defendants conspired to extort a settlement from Jay-Z by making false and malicious allegations.

The original accusations surfaced in December 2024, when an anonymous plaintiff, referred to as Jane Doe, filed a lawsuit claiming that Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs sexually assaulted her at an after-party following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, when she was 13 years old. Jay-Z vehemently denied these allegations, labeling them a “blackmail attempt” and asserting his intent to fight back without offering any settlement.

In February 2025, the lawsuit against Jay-Z was abruptly dismissed with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled. The dismissal occurred without any monetary settlement from Jay-Z, who celebrated the outcome as a “victory” and hinted at seeking further legal action to clear his name.

The new lawsuit filed by Jay-Z accuses Jane Doe and her attorney of engaging in an “evil conspiracy” to extort money through false allegations. The lawsuit claims that Jane Doe has “voluntarily admitted” directly to Jay-Z’s team that the star did not assault her and that Buzbee “pushed” her to make those allegations.

Jay-Z’s legal team contends that these actions have caused harm to his reputation and business interests, resulting in substantial financial losses.

In response to the lawsuit, Tony Buzbee has sharply denied the allegations, stating that Jay-Z’s investigators have harassed and intimidated the accuser in attempts to make her recant her story. Buzbee maintains that the accuser stands by her claims and asserts that the new lawsuit is an attempt to intimidate and bully her, vowing to address these actions in due course.
