Marlon Wayans has some exciting news for fans of his comedy classics—White Chicks 2 is on the way, but only after Scary Movie 6. The 52-year-old comedian and actor revealed on Good Morning America that a sequel to the classic 2004 film will follow him and his brother Shawn Wayans‘ return to the Scary Movie franchise.
“Fans always ask, ‘When are you doing the sequel?’ They love that movie,” Marlon said on GMA. “I think it’s time. So let’s get ‘Scary Movie 6’ done, and then we’ll go and bring out White Chicks 2.”
The original White Chicks was a box-office hit, grossing $113 million worldwide, and has remained a cult favorite over the years. Starring Marlon and Shawn as two FBI agents who go undercover as white socialites to thwart a kidnapping plot, the film also featured Terry Crews, Jaime King, and Brittany Daniel in memorable roles.
Over the years, fans and celebrities—most notably Crews—have publicly pushed for a sequel. Crews, who played the hilarious and obsessed Latrell Spencer, has repeatedly expressed his excitement for a second installment.

While the idea of a White Chicks sequel has been discussed for years, some critics have suggested that the film’s premise—two Black men dressing as white women—might not align with today’s cultural sensitivities. However, Marlon Wayans is standing firm against cancel culture when it comes to comedy.
“I don’t know what planet we’re on, where you think people don’t need laughter, and that people need to be censored and canceled,” Wayans told Buzzfeed in a previous interview. “If a joke is gonna get me canceled, thank you for doing me that favor.”
He also emphasized that comedy should remain a space where people can express themselves freely. “I ain’t listening to this damn generation. I ain’t listening to these scared-a— people, these scared executives,” he added.
Before White Chicks 2 goes into production, Marlon and Shawn Wayans are reuniting for ‘Scary Movie 6’, a major development for fans of the hit horror parody franchise.
The Wayans brothers created and wrote the first two Scary Movie films, which were massive hits. However, after the second installment, the franchise was taken over by The Weinstein Company, leaving the Wayans out of the series they helped build.
Marlon recently revealed that their departure wasn’t voluntary. Speaking on Kevin Hart’s Comedy Gold Minds podcast, he explained:
“We didn’t walk away from a franchise. They didn’t want to make our deal, and they snatched it … We never walked away from our franchise that we created. It was taken from us.”
He also shared how they found out about the change: “We learned on Christmas that they hired somebody else to go do it.”
Despite the history, the Wayans are now reclaiming the franchise under the guidance of Fast & Furious producer Neal H. Moritz, which will serve as a major comeback.
