Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts continues to prove that his leadership extends beyond the football field. In an interview with GQ, the Super Bowl-winning quarterback revealed that he has quietly set aside $70,000 for his younger sister’s college education.

Despite being one of the NFL’s brightest stars, Hurts has kept this financial move private—even from his parents and sister.

“I haven’t really talked about this one to anybody yet, not even my parents or my sister,” Hurts admitted. “Just in case she needs it in the future. She’s 16 now, and she’s gonna go to college one day. She’s gonna do great things, and just in case she needs it, I have $70,000 set aside for her to go to college, just in case she needs it.”

Hurts’ sister, Kynnedy Hurts, is a standout volleyball player with a bright future ahead of her. While she may earn a scholarship to play at the collegiate level, Hurts wanted to ensure that financial obstacles never stand in her way.

“She plays volleyball, so she could very well get a scholarship and go play somewhere for free. My brother and I—she’s the smartest, without a doubt. She’s in her own world when it comes to that.”

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, he comes from a tight-knit and hardworking family. His father, Averion Hurts Sr., is a high school football coach who played a significant role in shaping Jalen’s work ethic. His mother, Pamela Hurts, is a special education teacher and a pillar of support in his life.

Jalen Hurts also has an older brother, Averion Hurts Jr., who played quarterback at Texas Southern and now works as a football coach.
