Hip-hop and fashion icon A$AP Rocky is stepping into a new creative lane as the first-ever creative director of Ray-Ban, marking a major milestone for both the Harlem native and the legendary eyewear brand.
Ray-Ban, known for its classic Wayfarer and Aviator frames, has long been a cultural staple, worn by some of the most iconic figures in music, film, and fashion. Now, the brand is ushering in a new era with A$AP Rocky leading Ray-Ban Studios, a creative platform dedicated to merging music, fashion, and storytelling.
The partnership is a natural fit for Rocky, who has been a longtime fan of Ray-Ban and a trendsetter in hip-hop and high fashion.
“I’ve always admired Ray-Ban’s ability to stay true to its roots while constantly evolving,” Rocky said in a statement. “I’m excited to be part of the strong heritage and develop the next chapter for an iconic brand like Ray-Ban.”
“Ray-Ban transcends the eyewear industry; it’s not just a brand, it’s a lifestyle,” Ray-Ban President Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio added. For nearly 80 years, the brand has been on the faces of the most iconic musicians, artists, actors, and heroes—shaping and reshaping the status quo, leading cultural revolutions of all times.”
As part of his first major project, A$AP Rocky will launch the “Blacked Out Collection” this April, just in time for the spring and summer seasons. The collection will reimagine Ray-Ban’s Mega Icons, featuring gold-plated details and ultra-black lenses—a reflection of Rocky’s bold, trendsetting aesthetic.
Rocky’s role goes beyond designing eyewear. He will be involved in campaign direction, store redesigns, and creative storytelling—ensuring that Ray-Ban’s cultural influence continues to thrive across music, fashion, and the arts.
We’re excited for Rocky’s next chapter!
