Denzel Washington has cemented his place in Hollywood history, becoming the most-nominated Black actor in the 81-year history of the Golden Globes.
At this year’s ceremony, Washington received his 11th nomination for his role as Macrinus in Gladiator II, competing in the category of Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture.
Washington surpasses the record previously held by Sidney Poitier. His illustrious career includes two Golden Globe wins: Best Supporting Actor for Glory in 1990 and Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for The Hurricane in 2000.
