Fanbase founder and record producer Isaac Hayes III, son of the legendary soul icon Isaac Hayes, recently faced a troubling encounter outside his home in Atlanta.
On Christmas Eve, Hayes was accosted by a woman who attempted to block his entry into the gated community of Cobblestone at Brookhaven, where he resides.
Hayes shared the interaction on Instagram, posting a video of the incident. The woman, dressed in leopard print and appearing intoxicated, confronted Hayes as he attempted to enter the neighborhood.
“You trying to get in? Who are you? I’m on the board,” the woman can be heard saying in the video. She went on to accuse Hayes of reckless driving, saying, “You drive in here like a bat out of hell… f**k you, it’s all ridiculous. We have dogs, we have people, and you don’t even care.”
The encounter took a disturbing turn when the woman seemingly told Hayes he should “be white.”
“Christmas Eve Karen: I’ve never seen a Karen in the wild. Well tonight I had my first up-close encounter with one,” Hayes wrote. “I stayed calm, I made no sudden movements, and got away as quickly as I could. Outside of preventing me from entering my community, cursing at me, and telling me I should be ‘White.’ It’s pretty surreal. White Supremacy is crashin’ out all 2025. Be safe.”
Hayes was recently in the news after threatening to sue Former President Donald Trump for using his late father’s song Hold on, I’m Coming at his campaign rallies.
