Season 7 of Netflix’s popular reality series The Circle may have crowned a strategic victor, but the true winners of the season were undoubtedly Darian Holt and Jadejha Edwards.
Despite not making it to the Final 5, the couple found something more lasting than the $100,000 prize—each other (we hope).
The show, known for its twists and psychological gameplay, also played cupid this season by introducing viewers to the blossoming romance between Holt and Edwards. Their relationship is another example of Divine Nine love, with Holt being a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and Edwards belonging to Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
As contestants on The Circle, players can never be sure who they’re really talking to, yet the genuine connection between Holt and Edwards was undeniable from the start. Their alliance was solidified early on, and unlike other alliances that crumbled under pressure, their mutual support and respect only grew stronger.
Their relationship took a romantic turn when Holt visited Edwards in person after his elimination, leading to a memorable on-screen kiss that left fans cheering for more. Edwards even humorously hinted at marriage during a conversation with her father in one of the episodes. The finale, however, left their relationship status unclear, leading to speculation among the show’s fans.
But the question we all wanted to know was, why didn’t he choose Edwards when he became a disruptor? Holt had the opportunity to choose an influencer—a decision that could have easily included Edwards but didn’t.
In a candid interview with Entertainment Weekly, Holt explained his decision to choose Kevin as an influencer instead. He feared that selecting Edwards could have put a target on her back and revealed him as the Disruptor, potentially jeopardizing both their games. He believed that by choosing Kevin, he could indirectly protect Edwards and eliminate a mutual threat, Madelyn. Unfortunately, the move didn’t play out as expected, but Darian stands by his intent to protect Edwards from additional scrutiny within the game.
After the show aired, Holt and Edwards have put all doubts to rest. The couple confirmed in various interviews that they are indeed together and stronger than ever. Holt even relocated from Jackson, Mississippi, to Houston to be closer to Edwards, showing the seriousness of their relationship. The pair often engage with their fans on social media, sharing snippets of their life together.
As they navigate their new reality beyond the digital screens and avatars of The Circle, Holt and Edwards continue to prove that sometimes, the best prize isn’t the one you come to compete for, but the one you win along the way. Their love story has transcended the typical reality TV show narrative, offering a heartwarming reminder of the unpredictability of love and the reality of forging genuine connections in the most unlikely circumstances.
